The 3 Best Restaurants in Cusco, Peru

So you’ve stumbled upon the food capital of the world (in my humble opinion) and want a tasty meal to soothe your tastebuds? You’re in the right place. Here are my top three restaurant recommendations in Cusco, Peru.

#1 Organika

"Mix of Tapitas" from Organika

At number one, we have my favorite restaurant of all time: Organika. This place is farm to table, meaning all of their deliciously fresh veggies come from their farm in Sacred Valley. I am convinced that there is not a single bad item on this menu. We came here at least four times for dinner, and we ate at Organika Bakery and Coffee for breakfast about five times as well. The bakery is a great place to pick up a to-go breakfast to take home with you for eating the next day, which is a great option for those waking up at 4am to get to Machu Picchu! These people know what they are doing. The alpaca skewers and the smoked trout salad are a must. The osobucco is to die for. And don’t forget the lemonade (it’s made with fresh mint and is positively scrumptious!)

Side Note: Rucula and Yaku are two other great restaurants that have the same owner, but I think Organika has the best chefs.

#2 Kusykay

Another farm to table restaurant takes spot number two! Kusykay has beautifully decorated cocktails, tasty food, and yummy desserts to top it all off! But more than anything, they have incredible service.

We found this treasure after scavenging through restaurant reviews for a good restaurant that wasn’t Organika. Kusykay was a beautifully happy find. Miguel, our server, was incredibly sweet and hand drew us a map of Cusco, highlighting local sightseeing spots to visit while we were in town. After our meal, he made each of us tea to help with our digestion and even packed small teabags for us to take home (FOR FREE!) He then proceeded to bring out chocolate dipped goji berries, also for free. In summary, the food is great and the staff is better. Check it out!

#3 Crepería La Bohème

Next up, we have Crepería La Boheme, an all day breakfast joint located in the San Blas district of Cusco. We accidentally stumbled upon this gem while scouting for a snack, and boy was it a happy accident!

This restaurant has scrumptious crepes for both sweet tooth’s and savory searchers. Not a fan of crepes? Don’t fret! This crepería has way more on their menu than french delicacies.

Don’t miss out on their juices and tea time as well. And enjoy the awesome view from the patio!
